If not then what are you waiting for? There is nothing beter than having a purpose. For me this is one of them and I've been active on <a href="http://skywarn.org/">Skywarn</a> for about a year and a half.<div>So what is <a href="http://skywarn.org/">Skywarn</a>? Well to make it easy on any one new, it's a weather spotter/Ham radio. You get to watch the weather, which some of use already do, then you get to call it in to the NWS via your ham radio. Wow, how easy and fun. This service to the NWS is also a great service to your community. After your qualification, and hopefully a little self study afterwards, you'll be able to identify weather which you can notify NWS which in turn my trigger a notification to your town or city. It can also help the NWS to determine whether the sever weather was say a tornado which could cause federal aid to your community.</div><div>I know this is very simplified but thats how you start.
